Lianna's FAQ's
(For Readers)

When did you know you wanted to be a writer?
As a child I wrote and told stories to family and friends. For many years writing was a hobby of mine, something I did in my spare time. Then years later, I was thinking about going back to college. My husband said, “Why not be a writer since you love it so much.” My children were small, so I began exploring the idea part-time. Now, I work as many hours as I can, doing what I love.

What is Western Punk Romance?
I write western romance. My debut novella series, Runaway Outlaws, has a splash of Victorian punk style. I refer to this series of books as Western Punk Romance. My Western Punk Romance series taste like a historical western romance, topped with strong-willed, edgy heroines with unconventional professions and secret, scandalous pasts. And come meet the irresistible heroes dashing in to steal their hearts even though these feisty women rebel and hearts collide in the Wild West.

What kind of Western Romance do you write?
In the future, I'll be adding two more lines of western romance.

Contemporary Western Romance:  This line of books will be sweet romance with a touch of cute humorous situations for the HERO and HEROINE.
 (Coming FALL 2021)

Classic Western Romance:  This line of books the characters will be wearing traditional clothing and the story will be lacking the Victorian punk feel to it.
 (Coming Soon)

When was your first book published?
My first book in my series, The Runaway Outlaws, was released on March 22, 2020 on Amazon. The first book in the series is The Bounty's Reward. I'm currently working on finishing book two in this series, The Bounty's Catch. This will be released on January 9, 2021.

Lianna's FAQ's
(For Writers)

When did you know you wanted to be a writer?

As a child I wrote and told stories to family and friends. For many years writing was a hobby of mine, something I did in my spare time. Then years later, I was thinking about going back to college. My husband said, “Why not be a writer since you love it so much.” My children were small, so I began exploring the idea part-time. Now, I write as many hours as I can, doing what I love.

Where do you write?

I usually do the bulk of my writing at home, my favorite place to be. Though I will take it with me to work, writing on my breaks.

When do you write?
I write on my lunch breaks and in the evenings during the work week. And on weekends I fit in as much time as I can after family obligations. I average about 10 to 15 hours a week.

How long did it take you to write your first book?
I worked at it part time for five years and learned a lot about writing. After writing my first book, I set it aside, where it currently is collecting dust, and started writing my Runaway Outlaws series.

Where's your favorite place to write?
At home, in my "writing room" as I fondly call it. I love how the windows look out to a wooded area with a meadow. I will often see deer walk through my yard. Years ago, I had a deer walk up to explore right out my window. She was beautiful.

Where is the craziest place you ever wrote?
The craziest place I ever wrote was in a horse pasture. I fondly remember my horses coming up and investigating what I was up to.

How do you come up with your stories and characters?
I have had stories come to me through music, pictures, or an image of a character appears in my imagination. The story usually begins as a character's story unfolds like a movie in my mind.

Do you have any advice for overcoming writer's block?
If my writing flow is disrupted by "writer’s block" it usually stems from fear. As writers, we worry if our writing is good enough or if anyone will want to read it. You're not the only writer to have this problem. I have found it helpful to organize any goal into smaller tasks. And always remember the positive things people have said about your writing. Lastly, I find ways to keep the joy of writing in my daily routine.

How do you keep inspired?
I find inspiration from fellow writers, along with other amazing people who have accomplished their dreams. Whenever someone has a dream they refuse to give up on, even through obstacles and others are dragging them down, it inspires me to keep going. Focus on your goal every day and never give up.

Are you a member of a writing group?
Yes. I'm a member of Romance Writers of America(RWA), Wisconsin Romance Writers of America(WisRWA), and part of the (RWA-PAN) community.
